FALL FASHION SERIES: WOODLAND WANDERING

During the next few weeks we will be sharing with you our take on some of fall's biggest trends. Our first photo shoot was inspired by textures and movement. Wearing fringe, lace, fur, and velvet, we got lost in the woods with the wonderful Grace Willis of True Grace Photography and channeled our inner forest child. Here's a little fall fashion, Sugar & Spice style.

I am personally a huge fan of the sporty yet chic styles that are on trend for this fall.  For this shoot, I immediately knew I wanted to use a kimono. Paired with the relaxed yet polished jumpsuit, I think the kimono adds an exotic flair to this simple look. Additionally, the velvet texture and the fringe on the ends of the kimono give this traditional piece a modern twist.

This fall, I am really into feminine silhouettes and textures. I am definitely a lover of all things lace, but wanted to dress this ivory top down a little by pairing it with a periwinkle slip dress (one of my absolute favorite colors). Finally, on top I added my grandmother's vintage mink stole. This is one of my favorite accessories, because it transports me to another time and I think it gives the look a "Gatsby" feel.
